Rima Kallingal stole the show at the Miss Kerala 2008 pageant by winning titles such as Miss Talented, Miss Photogenic, Miss Beautiful Eyes and Miss Voice.
The excitement of winning the glamour contest is loud and clear in her voice. In a nail-biting finish, Rima Kallingal lost the Miss Kerala title to Shree Thulasi in a tie-breaker. A dancer by profession, Rima Kallingal has performed on national and international stages.
“Dance is my passion. I focus on Indian contemporary dance now. Though I am more comfortable with Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattom and Kathak, training in Kalari and other martial arts gives more flexibility and scope of experimentation. I try to blend all these dance forms in my choreography,” says Rima Kallingal, who was also a semi-finalist in the popular television dance competition “Thakathimi”.
Daughter of Mr Kallingal, an engineer based in Thrissur, Rima Kallingal began her dance practice when she was in the first standard.
As offers keep coming from the film industry, the “Miss Talented” with a cheerful face, bright eyes and sweet voice, is getting ready for a film career.
She has debuted in the malayalam films through the movie 'Rithu' which was directed by Shyamaprasad.
She is getting more offers from the directors and now she is doing the malayalam movie 'NeelaThamara'. The movie Neela Thamara was directed by Lal Jose in which she is doing the role of a village girl. Also she is selected for a heroine role in a tamil Movie ‘Mazhai Vara Mokithu’ of lal Jose and that may be her debut movie in Tamil.
Another movies which features Rima in some important role includes new Shaji Kailas movie ‘Reghupathy Raghava Rajaram’ which will feature Prithviraj in triple roles.
